The construction site is located in the Obolonskyi District of Kyiv. According to the project specifications, a bridge crossing has been designed from Obolonskyi Island toward Pryrichna Street.
Urban planning requirements were taken into account when determining the bridge’s plan and elevation. The bridge’s superstructure and the right-bank approach are aligned in a straight line in plan view. The left-bank approach and the abutment (behind the retaining wall) are on a curve in plan view.
The bridge has the following main characteristics: total length along the rear edges of the retaining walls – 60.86 m; geometric layout 18+24+18 m; clear width – 4.0 m; the length of the work section from KP 0+00 to KP 0+72.40; the clearance from the water surface to the bridge structures is not less than 2.5 m.
The superstructure follows the 18+24+18 m scheme. In cross-section, two reinforced concrete prestressed I-beams are connected by a monolithic slab to form a thermally continuous system. Intermediate supports are double-column monolithic. The columns are connected by a monolithic girder. The piers are monolithic reinforced concrete without backfill. Deep-set foundations on bored piles. The bridge deck is asphalt concrete. Expansion joints are rubber-metal (with a rubber compensator). In accordance with specific sections of the project, architectural and decorative lighting is being installed on the bridge, and video surveillance equipment is being installed. The design of the major repair took into account the requirements of DBN V.2.2-17 “Accessibility of Buildings and Structures for People with Limited Mobility.”
